Danny Labin is the Vice President of International Social Impact at Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organization that produces “Sesame Street” and other educational media around the world. Based in New York, Danny is responsible for developing and distributing content that drives social impact with a vast network of global partners. Over the course of his two-decade career to date, Danny has worked across the field of children’s media in various roles that span content creation, evaluation and research, project management, and international business development. Danny currently oversees several Sesame Street projects in multiple countries that each harnesses the power of media to deliver culturally relevant programming for children, parents, and educators. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Danny led the distribution of global health and educational content that reached millions of children in over 100 countries and in more than 40 languages. Much of Danny’s work is focused on reaching vulnerable children living amidst the world’s most intractable conflicts, including Sesame initiatives in the Middle East, in Afghanistan and, most recently, in Ukraine.
Originally from Los Angeles, Danny holds a master’s degree in education from Harvard University. He is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations and currently serves on the steering committee of the International Social & Behavior Change Communications Summit. Danny is the author of published academic articles examining strategic initiatives that promote educational impact at scale.
