HIGA delegates at a table, with OLAM logo

This week OLAM had the pleasure of taking a delegation of five of our partners to the Hillel International Global Assembly in Denver, Colorado.

Who was with us this year? Meet our delegates below!

Yael Shapira, Program Director, OLAM. What are you most excited about in being a part of the OLAM Delegation at HIGA? "Since I just joined OLAM a few weeks ago, HIGA is my first opportunity to meet OLAM partners in-person and learn more in depth about their diverse work. I am excited to facilitate an opportunity for the delegates to meet one another and at the same time engage with Jewish professionals about why international development and global service work is key to our Jewish identity."

Yonatan Bram, Chief Operations Officer, Tevel B'Tzedek. What are you hoping to gain from this conference? "In visiting HIGA with the OLAM delegation, I intend to expand the conversation Tevel has with Jewish communities in the U.S. I hope to develop meaningful partnerships with community leaders, in organizing city and campus cohorts of participants in our service learning programs in Nepal."

Ilana Frankel, Director of Operations, North America, Project TEN. How do you see the delegation as an asset for your organization? "I want to learn about how we can publicize Project TEN as the Jewish Peace Corps service and reignite a passion for Tikkun Olam on college campuses across North America. This conference can help guide Project TEN in finding relevant campuses and students who want to become Jewish Social Activists."

Arielle Sokoloff, Partnership Manager, JDC Entwine. What are you most excited about in being a part of the OLAM Delegation at HIGA? "I’m excited to be a part of a delegation that represents the global Jewish community. We have the amazing opportunity to deepen relationships, learn what is important to Jewish college students today, and think strategically about what global Jewish responsibility means to this community."

Kate Applebaum, Director of Partnership and Engagement, IsraAID. What are you most excited about in being a part of the OLAM Delegation at HIGA?"I am very excited about being able to work more closely with OLAM and the other organizations that are part of the delegation. I think it is an exciting opportunity to learn more about what these different groups do, and further develop IsraAID's partnership with each of these organizations."

Jacob Sztokman, Founding Director, Gabriel Project Mumbai. What are you most excited about in being a part of the OLAM Delegation at HIGA? "I'm excited to connect with the Hillel professionals who represent the vast Jewish student body in the U.S. and beyond. Being part of the OLAM delegation will offer Gabriel Project Mumbai a support and a focused voice when meeting representatives of Hillel."
