Whether we work in the “climate sector” and implement projects directly relating to the environment, or in other sectors, the communities with which we work are affected by the climate crisis. We have the responsibility to take mitigation, resilience, and response to the climate crisis into account when designing, implementing, and communicating about our projects; otherwise, we risk doing harm with our interventions. We must also take steps to reduce our own headquarters’ carbon footprint, and structure our funding so that it takes future climate risks into account. As such, ethical climate practices is one of the topics on which OLAM’s Aspire Ethical Practices Program is focused.
